Context
A hillside site for a mosque that also serves as a centre for the community: study groups, meetings, and family events.
Challenge
The building had to feel solemn yet open to everyday use, with a clear route from parking to the ablution area and the prayer hall.
Approach
A grey stone facade with calligraphy panels forms the face of the building, and a hip roofed pavilion acts as the transition. A glazed veranda covers the shoe racks and ablution area, while the prayer hall stays simple with the mihrab as its focus.
Scope
Concept design, massing, facade and prayer hall interior design, and 3D visualisation.
Result
A design that respects its purpose as a place of worship and stays welcoming as a place for the community.
